That's All, Folks!

Wednesday, 31 December 2014

Well, folks, that is it for Two -Thousand and Fourteen. Another year is over, passed us by in a flash and a new one right in front of us. 2014 was definitely a good year for me. It had it's ups and downs, yes, and moments when I just wanted to punch a wall but it was full of laughter, fun and memorable moments. It was an great year and I hope that it continues into 2015.

This was the year that I created my YouTube channel and my blog. Never in my wildest dream would I have guessed that as many views would have been clocked up in just six months. I keep being surprised and shocked that people actually read this page and am even more shocked when they like the posts! Don't pinch me! Please keep being amazing!

Twenty Fourteen || In Retrospect

Sunday, 28 December 2014

Two Thousand And Fourteen has been one hell of a year. It certainly has been on the best years of my life and I look back on it with fondness and with a lot of light. There were a lot of bright points throughout the year, all of which I will cherish. So with that, I thought that I would do a 'In Retrospect' post about what things, people and moments that stood out the most for me and what made it special...

Get The Look || Sharon Raydor [Major Crimes 3x15 Chain Reaction]

Friday, 26 December 2014

Sharon Raydor in casual attire? Be still my beating heart! And you wanna know what's more? It's totally my style! What does that say about me? My style is similar to that of one of Mary McDonnell's character? I'll take that! Whenever Sharon stepped into that police tent on Monday's new episode of Major Crimes (3x15 Chain Reaction), I nearly died from the gorgeousness. I'm serious. I loved everything about the outfit - the jacket, the top, the jeans and the boots. Oh the boots! Don't even get me started on the hair and the make-up or all you will see is an incoherent keymash of epic flailing proportions. Nevertheless, after a nap, I started sourcing the outfit and here is what I managed to find...

Merry Christmas

Thursday, 25 December 2014

Merry Christmas, everyone. If you celebrate a different holiday today, I hope you have a wonderful time and that you spend it with people that you love.

TUTORIAL || Emilia Fox Inspired Christmas Make-Up

Monday, 22 December 2014

One day whilst perusing the Internet, I found myself looking at the photoshoot gallery album for Emilia Fox and I was suddenly inspired to do a make-up tutorial. I adore Emilia Fox . Silent Witness is one of my favourite shows (I miss Harry! *sad face*). Emilia has a lot of gorgeous photoshoots and I saw this photo and was instantly inspired to put together a look that would be perfect for Christmas Day.

Raydor's Rouge || Maybelline's Answer to Mademoiselle

Friday, 19 December 2014

Hands up those of you that love the lipstick that Sharon Raydor has on in Major Crimes! Me! I absolutely adore her make-up and have wanted to know what she wears. Like the good sleuth that I am, I found this interview with Major Crimes' make-up artist, Robin Siegel, and she uses Chanel's Coco Rouge lipstick in No. 5 Mademoiselle.

TUTORIAL || Elsa [Frozen]

Wednesday, 17 December 2014

I adore Frozen. I have loved it since the moment I first watched it in the cinema. I saw it twice in the cinema because I loved it that much. I was instantly drawn to the character Elsa as Idina Menzel is an actress and singer that I greatly admire. I didn't know much about Frozen but I recognised Idina's voice immediately and that kickstarted my love of Elsa. I nearly squealed with delight at the discovery in the screening Whilst in the throws of a cold on Sunday, I decided to dust off my Frozen DVD and give it a good 'ol watch. Cue getting inspiration for a wearable make-up tutorial for Elsa.

Christmas Style || Sharon Raydor [Major Crimes]

Sunday, 14 December 2014

Once again, Mary McDonnell, or rather her character, has made my inner fashionista's heart flutter. In the latest episode of Major Crimes (3x12 Acting Out), Sharon Raydor got all dolled up for a night out to see The Nutcracker - an appropriate Christmas ballet - and her outfit for said ballet was absolutely stunning. (See outfit here & here) Costume stylist, Greg LeVoi magnificently chose this outfit! It suited Mary's skin tone and hair colour down to the ground and it showed off her impeccable legs (I'll be forever jealous of those!) The dress that she wore was a gorgeous creation by Diane Von Furstenberg, a Zarita Scoopneck Lace Dress that goes for $348. I don't know about you, but I don't have $348 to throw around for a dress. So, I did a little traipsing about the internet and found some cheaper alternatives.

Mistletoe Kisses // Tanya Burr

Friday, 12 December 2014

I adore Tanya Burr's lip-glosses. As a result, her limited edition release 'Mistletoe Kisses' was on the top of my list of lip glosses that I wanted needed in my life. Every time I checked the Superdrug website to order it, it was sold out and the Superdrug in Belfast didn't have it. As soon as I saw it in stock online, it was added to my basket faster than oxygen was added to my lungs!

Having a Mind Bully

Wednesday, 10 December 2014

In today's post I'm going to get a little personal all up in here because I feel like I need to get this off my chest, air it all out and I feel like I can be honest with you lot. If you can't be honest on your blog, when can you be?

The other day I took myself off to Belfast to do some Christmas shopping where I perused a lot of the shops, going into this one and that one at my leisure. I went to all the usual suspects; Boots, The Disney Store, HMV and Paperchase. All of my faves and even took a little not-so-sneaky caramelatte in Caffe Nero. As I drifted down Donegal Place, Royal Avenue and around the streets spreading out from Victoria Square, I found myself drifting into some shops that I don't usually find myself in and looking at clothes. New Look is my bread and butter but I went into River Island, TopShop and Mango and H&M. I usually love a little whizz round in this places just to see what's what for the craic and I always end up drooling over their accessories. (Santa has got an H&M bag for me for Christmas, sssh, don't tell that I know).

But something happens whenever I go into anywhere that deals with fashion.

"That wouldn't suit me," I tell myself. "I couldn't wear that."

I'm sure that I'm not the first shopper to utter those words internally and I doubt that I'll be the last. But for me, it is rather consuming. In Mango, my heart was leaping with joy at the many gorgeous articles of clothing that were before my eyes. They were definitely my cup of tea with their cut, texture and pure sophisticated look. My inner Sharon Raydor/Mary McDonnell was begging me to touch this blazer, that blouse and that skirt and this dress. Yet in my head, I couldn't bring myself to dangle such beauty before myself when I know that I would be doing the item a great dis-service by forcing my body into it, forever disfiguring it. 'I don't deserve it,' I would say to myself. Looking at these gorgeous clothes, I felt like I was twice the size that I physically am. I'm not the slimmest person and people do compliment me on my figure but I have this image of what I look like in my head and it isn't what I see in the mirror.

Whenever I'm getting myself ready to go out, whether or not I'm going shopping, running errands or going for a night out, I think that I actually look quite decent whenever I look in the mirror. I think that I look quite cute and that my outfit is nice enough. When I went to Belfast I thought that I look good in my cream knit hat and gloves, plum coat, jeans and converse style shoes. My hair was cooperating with my and the layers looked cute draped over the collar. But whenever I get out the door and I catch my reflection in anything reflective, I feel like I've instantly gained 2 stone and turned 3 shades paler.

Does anyone else feel like that?

I have an image in my head of how I think that I look. The mental image that I have in my head is my First Year high school portrait. I was a little bit on the chubby side, I had short hair that I was growing out, glasses and crooked teeth with a bottle green uniform that was too big because it had to last me seven years. Blazers are expensive, people. Whenever I'm anywhere, that is how I think I look. My dirty blonde hair is pulled back into a hair clamp, I'm smiling with my crooked teeth, my sallow cheeks are pudgey and my uniform drowns me. That is how I always see myself when I'm away from a proper mirror. Then when I catch my reflection properly and I'm actually taken aback by how unlike that mental image I look; I have long blonde hair, porcelain skin, and a nice fitted coat on. But then that only lasts for about twenty seconds when it wears off then it's back to the mental image of First Year Me. It sucks, I tell you. I cannot get away from that mental image that I have burned into my mind. That moment when the switch resets feels like it punches my fragile self-confidence in the face and then chokes it into submission. Can I un-burn this mental image?

I look at all the people walking around and I'm admiring their outfits and wishing that I could have the confidence to wear whatever they're wearing. I wish that I could layer clothes and look adorable without looking like Violet Beauregarde après the fateful chewing gum. I know that I can do that and that the only thing stopping me is me. I should just wear what I want and not give a fiddler's what anyone else thinks, right? Sadly, my self-consciousness is returning to crippling levels that I hesitate in lifting that blazer that my eyes are begging me to buy or that skirt that has yet to be worn in my wardrobe.

To feel better about myself I know that I can exercise to tone up and lose weight and whatever else have you. I can exercise at home, right? Well, I have the tiniest bedroom where I can barely see the floor. I have a single path from the bed to the door with barely enough room to sit in the floor to do my make-up. You could barely swing a cat in here! What about the living room? It is occupied all the waking hours of the day by somebody. There is always somebody coming and going into the house and through the living room and watching something on that TV because it has the channels that everyone wants. It's a nightmare so there goes that idea out the window. Even the other living room is occupado due to a through floor lift/elevator. Gym? It's baltic outside (Hola, Winter! You suck!) and the idea of being cold to get to the gym to become drenched in hot sweat and then go out into the cold again isn't very motivating. Excuses, excuses. I know. You can see my predicament...

How can I get past this mental roundabout that my self-confidence is determined to keep me on? Have any of you overcome this or experienced anything like this?

The Christmas Tag

Monday, 8 December 2014

I'm bringing a little bit of the season to my blog with a tag that I saw here on Queen of Jet Lag's blog. I thought that it was such a lovely Christmas tag that I thought that I would do it too. So, without further adieu, here are my answers.

Confessions Of A Retail Assistant

Saturday, 6 December 2014

Working in retail can be rewarding and yet it can be the a very thankless job too. Working shifts that start before the sun even does, dealing with customers that think they're entitled to your very blood and having to deal with Hell in general.

Taking inspiration from DizzyBrunette3's incredibly hilarious and true post || here || here is my take on retail work; The Confessions of A Retail Assistant.

Better In Stereo // December

Thursday, 4 December 2014

With it being December and such, my CD collection in the car naturally changed from my previous blog post. I'm constantly bringing different CDs down to the car because there are times when I just don't like the current top 40. With a few sneaky little purchases, I shook up my little CD stash and I have three new albums that I can squawk away to at the top of my lungs whenever I'm alone in the car, or even with company.

Get The Look || DDA Andrea Hobbs [Major Crimes]

Tuesday, 2 December 2014

Major Crimes is back. Major Crimes is back. Major Crimes. Is. Back. Last Monday was the Winter première of the second half of the third season of Major Crimes and I was beyond excited about its return. Soooo, in honour of it's return and the new episode this week, I'm sharing another make-up tutorial for one of its characters. Previously I did a make-up, hair and outfit video for Captain Sharon Raydor || here ||. Today I'm going to do a make-up and hair tutorial for another favourite character, Deputy District Attorney Andrea Hobbs played by Kathe Mazur.

Christmas Style || Mary McDonnell

Saturday, 29 November 2014

Two things! 1 - Christmas is upon us. 2 - Mary McDonnell is one of my style icons (see related post here). With one of the most fashionable seasons upon us, how could I possibly combine Christmas and Mary McDonnell's style? Simple! I ask myself WWMW - What Would Mary Wear? Translation: I look through her red carpet outfits and see what inspires me! With the Christmas season here and all of the Christmas parties happening and New Year's right after that, it's the perfect time of year to get dolled up in your most fanciest dress, or your most sparkling dress or that little black or red dress that just screams "Christmas Party!". For this Christmas season, I think that this look that Mary wore to the In Pursuit of Peace Award Dinner || here || here || would be perfect for a Christmas dinner or party.

FAVOURITES || Rimmel London

Thursday, 27 November 2014

I am a huge fan of Rimmel London make-up products. When I first became interested in make-up I literally came home with a bag full of solely Rimmel products. I lifted a foundation, concealer, powder, lipstick - pretty much the works. Also, whenever I'm at work, I walk past the Rimmel stand that is there and slyly try to look up what is there and what could potentially be my next purchase as I subtly 'tidy' it. I have build a little collection up over the past couple of months and I've decided to share what my favourite items are from it.

Flirting with Frivole

Monday, 24 November 2014

There has never been a blush that I have been more excited about than Chanel's Joues Contraste powder blush in 76 Frivole. The reason why I have this blush is the most shallow reason (to everyone but me, that is) but I am utterly in love with it regardless.

Highlight on Belfast || Continental Christmas Market

Friday, 21 November 2014

There is one thing that signals the start of the Christmas season here in Northern Ireland for me and that is the Continental Christmas Market in Belfast city centre. For roughly a month, stalls of all kinds take over the grounds of Belfast City Hall and sell mouth-watering food and goods from all over the continent. Nougat and cannolis from Italy, paella, churros and burritos from Spain, crepes and pancakes from France, frankfurters from Germany, other delicacies that I can't remember, flavoured coffees, hot chocolate, enough sweets to make Willy Wonka drool and the most lip-smacking cupcakes that you can imagine. It's a foodie's dreamland. On top of all that food goodness, there are clothes, jewellery, carvings, plants, handmade journals and all manner of things for sale, plus two beer tents with legit bouncers outside. There is something for everyone all with the backdrop of Belfast City Hall.

All About The Base

Wednesday, 19 November 2014

They always say that the basis of a strong building is a good foundation and the very same came be said for make-up. You can do anything with make-up when you have a good base - well, I think so, You can build upon it to create any look for a night out, for the working day ahead, for a shopping trip or for creating the base for a character that you're wanting to create with your make-up. This is my foundation for my make-up.

CHRISTMAS || Beauty Wishlist

Monday, 17 November 2014

Dear Santa Claus,

I have been ever so good this year and if you find it in your good opinion that I have been, could I please, please, please, please, have something from this little list? I know you couldn't possibly carry them all but perhaps you could bring maybe one or two...

1 - Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette // £56.00
2 - Chanel Rouge Coco // Mademoiselle // £25.00
3 - L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation // £9.99
4 - MAC Bountiful Brown // £14.00
5 - Bourjois Smoky Eyes Trio Mordore Chic 3 // £7.99
6 - L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Mono // £5.49
Breaking Nude
La Vie En Rose
Little Biege Dress
Macaron Vanilla
7 - L'Oreal Paris La Palette Nude // £14.99
Thank you ever so much.

This is all just wishful thinking. An imaginary wishlist of things that I would love to get my mits on but one day - items that threaten the wellbeing of my laptop as I drool over it. I probably won't even own a third of what I dream about at any point.

Some wishes are shallow in that they're the products used by the make-up artists of my favourite people - read: Mary McDonnell. Hey, people lust after what Kendall Jenner uses, why can't I do the same for Mary McDonnell? Toma[y]to, toma[h]to.

What beauty items are on your wishlist to Santa this year?

We Go Together

Monday, 10 November 2014

I apologise for my absence this past week. It has been one hectic week with not enough hours in the day. In addition to working my usual hours, I had the added responsibility of being the lighting desk operator for my local choral society's youth production of 'Grease'. I was fortunate to perform in their previous production of 'Grease' nine years ago as Jan. All of the memories of that production came back when I read this new production's script. This time around however, I took on the technical role of lighting desk operator, working closely with the assistant director on what lighting she wanted for each scene and each musical number. Here are some pictures that I took on my mobile phone from that week.

RunawayGo @ HMV Belfast

Sunday, 2 November 2014

On Saturday, November 2nd, I travelled up to Belfast for a free gig featuring local band RunawayGo on the top floor of the HMV store. I had missed their previous HMV gig - I was gutted that I did because I simply adore this band! When I heard about this gig, I knew that I would be going to see them again. It had been too long!

Hallowe'en || Twenty Fourteen

Friday, 31 October 2014

For work, we were allowed to dress up for Hallowe'en. This was the first Hallowe'en where I have dressed up. I have never dressed up for Hallowe'en before and I was really excited about it. Unfortunately, I was the only one that really dressed up at work. A handful of my colleagues added little statement pieces to their uniforms to add a little bit of colour for the day but none dressed up to the extent that I did. I went as Wednesday Addams.

How To || Use Contact Lenses

Wednesday, 29 October 2014

Contact lenses can be the most awkward and frutrating things to ever cross your path. They are weightless, tiny bowl shaped pieces of plastic that sit on your eyeball to either help you see better or to change the colour of your eye. They are a pain in the eye - literally - to put in because, hello, it's your eye and you're practically touching it with your finger. There can be no easy way to put something like this on your eye, right? Keep reading...

Room Decorating/DVD Storage Through An iPhone

Monday, 27 October 2014

My bedroom is in the middle of a makeover. It's an ongoing process and will continue to be an ongoing process until my wardrobe arrives in about five more weeks. Recently, my uncle constructed the bookcase that will house my collection of DVDs, CDs, my TV and DVD player. Before, my DVDs and CDs were housed between two media stands, a shelf, a drawer and in a tower behind the TV on a chest of drawers.

The bookcase is a Maine Tall and Wide Extra Deep Bookcase from Argos // £44.99.

Practically everything concerning finishing my room is on hold until the wardrobe arrives as I need to know what space will remain once it is in. I can't even do the finishing touches to the walls or the bookcase in case anything is knocked and ruined

My bedroom is tiny. TI-NY. It's nothing more than a glorified office. I was six-years-old when my family moved into this house and I was a little girl with nothing but teddies and clothes so space wasn't much of an issue. Now as a grown woman, I have clothes, teddies, DVDs, CDs, make-up, books, a guitar, and a mountain of shoes that all need a place to call their own. I'm wanting to have a desk, utilising the space between my bed and the part of the wall that juts out at the corner.

Having a smidge of OCD, I couldn't just put my DVDs on the shelves in any old order. Especially when I have movies, TV boxsets, live comedian performances, animation and *insert genre here*. How could I possibly just lump them altogether? I categorised everything into 4 categories; Movies/features, television shows and boxsets, Disney/Animation and Favourites.

From top to bottom:
Shelf 1: DVD player, a plushie and Favourites (Favoured TV shows and movies)
Shelf 2: The Television
Shelf 3: CD collection
Shelf 4: Movies & features
Shelf 5: Television show boxsets
Shelf 6: Television show boxsets and Disney & Animation. *plus unsorted items.

Once I get everything sorted, I will share the final look of my room. Until then, I'll share the process of it all. Would you all like to see that?

Five Minute Makeover

Saturday, 25 October 2014

There are mornings when I can barely pour myself out of bed in time to put my uniform on, brush my teeth and get out the door to go to work. On those mornings, I give myself an extra twenty minutes in bed, huddled under my duvet and as snug as a bug in a rug. I don't want to move and I don't want to greet the cold floor of the bathroom. Do. Not. Want. As a result, I don't want to  be bothered with any make-up. But what if I wanted to put some make-up on just to make me look alive? Or if I have a spare five minutes at work after I clock in or when I'm taking my tea-break? How can I possibly condense a typically twenty minute make-up routine into five minutes?

FASHION | New in New Look

Thursday, 23 October 2014

I perused the latest that the New Look website had to offer. To be honest, I was rather disappointed by their Autumn/Winter collection. There were a lot of pastel colours available, which just do not suit my Autumn fashion tastes. I was looking forward to finding tops that had the warmth of burgundy and wine.

Nevertheless, I did find several items that I loved and I'm sharing them with you here and now. All together, I think that they would make a very cute outfit that could be casual and dressed up. Looking at the picture now, the left column has the casual pieces and the right has the fancier pieces, keeping the top and jeans the same. Total coincidence, promise. Anyway, onto the finds....
1 - Cream Bulldog Print T-shirt // £9.99 £5.00
2 - Pink Zip Waterfall Blazer // £27.00 £22.99 *available in black
3 - Dark Red Drop Pocket Boyfriend Cardigan // £12.99
4 - Blue Authentic Ripped Skinny Jeans // £24.99
5 - Monochrome Flower Necklace // £9.99
6 - Black Chelsea Front Shoe Boots // £24.99
7 - Black Half T-Bar Strap Pointed Heels // £22.99
8 - Black Laser Cut Panel Tote Bag // £29.99 *available in other colours

What have you loved from New Look's new season collection? What would you recommend?

UBU Smoke Screens

Tuesday, 21 October 2014

I bought the Smoke Screens Smokey Eye Brush Kit by Urban Beauty United (UBU) as a bit of an experiment. I'm not the greatest when it comes to eyeshadow application. I'm always on the look out for eyeshadow brushes on a budget that will help my eyshadow game. I saw these in Asda for £6 and since it didn't break the bank at that price, I thought that I'd give them a whirl. Also, they're purple! How cute is that?

Sunday Morning Rain Is Falling

Sunday, 19 October 2014

I don't know about you, but there are times when I get so bored that I don't know what to do with myself. There are days when I get bored or I'm trapped indoors because I live in Ireland and the rain likes to take a notion that it wants to pour out of the heavens with no intention of ever stopping - which has literally been my life for the last three days! There doesn't seem to be anything on TV worth watching as I search through the channels for the twentieth time. I've caught up on all my web haunts and nobody has tweeted a single thing of note in twenty minutes and I've just refreshed that web page for the sixtieth time. What could I possibly do when I'm bored, uninspired, and trapped indoors? Let me tell you what I like to do to pass the time...

Better In Stereo

Friday, 17 October 2014

Emphasis on the 'my'! Over a month ago, I got my very own car! My own used car that I have affectionately named Diaval after the gorgeous raven from Maleficent (I swooned so hard for him) and my brother doesn't believe in naming things (it was his car previously). But Diaval is a car that I can drive wherever I want when the notion takes me (and the petrol tank allows). With that, I've created my own CD stash so that I can listen to whatever I want because, you know, I'm the driver; whatever I say goes! Plus, I don't like all the songs on the radio. A person's CD collection provides a valuable insight into the range that their taste in music encompasses, so here is a small insight into mine and the few CDs from my collection that I wanted to have with me when I'm driving on my adventures.

Get The Look || Captain Sharon Raydor [Major Crimes]

Wednesday, 15 October 2014

In previous posts and my September favourites video, you all must be aware by now how much I simple adore Mary McDonnell, Major Crimes and her character in said show, Captain Sharon Raydor. So, with Halloween in a couple of weeks I thought that I would share with you a costume idea for her outfit from Major Crimes Season 3 Promotional Photoshoot, plus a make-up and hair tutorial so that you can dress up as Captain Raydor (aka Darth Raydor).

The Glasses Menagerie

Saturday, 11 October 2014

I wear glasses. That's a fact and there isn't anything that I can do about it. I have contact lenses and I'm not eligible for laser eye surgery because of my prescription. I can't help it that I need. I wasn't born with 20-20 vision. The only way I'm ever going to have 20-20 written on anything to do with my eyes is when it is in the year 2020, so I have 6 years to wait for that one. Also, I have perfect 20-20 vision when it comes to hindsight. Ha.

September Favourites 2014

Thursday, 9 October 2014

It's that time again. Favourites time! It's been a while since I've made a video (I'm useless!) but I haven't been inspired to make one but I have been planning a couple of videos that are beyond anything I've ever done before. I'm extremely nervous about doing them but there are exciting times to be had putting it all together. In the meantime, here is my favourites video for September. Clicky clicky that play button. Don't forget to comment and let me know what some of your favourites for September were.

Kotor // Montenegró

Tuesday, 7 October 2014

The first stop on my cruise with Royal Caribbean's Splendour of the Seas was the small Mediterranean coastal town of Kotor in Montenegró. It took the ship a while to negotiate it's way through the Bay of Kotor to get to the old Montenegrin town. It is nestled at the bottom of a canyon and guarded by the imposing St. John's Hill with fortified walls that protect the town from invaders. The Boka Kotorska Bay certainly leaves a lasting impression.

Essie || Fifth Avenue

Sunday, 5 October 2014

I have two days off of work and you know what that means! I've cracked out the nail varnish and coated my nails in colourful goodness. For this installment of Kazzie-Paints-Her-Nails, I've used Essie's Fifth Avenue.

Fresher's Week // College Chat

Friday, 3 October 2014

On the sixth of July, 2010, I graduated from Queen's University, Belfast with a Bachelors Degree in (Joint Honours) Drama and English. I spent three years studying for my degree. I left Grammar School with my A-Levels in June, went straight to university in September, commuted up and down to Belfast from home every day for lectures and seminars for three years and then went straight into a supermarket. Looking back, I know that my experience of university was not the greatest and I felt like a little fish lost in a very big pond and as a plethora of young minds, and mature minds alike, embark on their higher education journey, here is my experience and 2 cents.

Highlight on Belfast // Kurrito

Wednesday, 1 October 2014

Whenever I take a leisurely jaunt up to Belfast to hang out with my best friend, we inevitably find our feet carrying us towards the nearest Boojum burrito bar. It's our favourite Mexican burrito bar in Belfast and it is a favourite to many, many, many people as the queue to get in is typically snaked out the door and down the street.

This was the case yesterday when I went up for a hang about and my best friend suggested trying out a burrito bar that had just opened down the street on the bottom of Botanic Avenue, just up from Shaftesbury Square, named Kurrito.

STYLE ICONS // Mary McDonnell

Monday, 29 September 2014

All of my life I have always gone a different route to the other girls that I know. While they were shopping, getting manicures and dating, I was watching Star Trek, reading fanfiction and talking to my friends all over the world through the Internet and gushing over my idols. My idols differed greatly from theirs too. They loved Beyoncé, Keira Knightley or Victoria Beckham or whoever was on the front cover of the magazines and emulated their styles. I, however, adored the styles of actresses that would make them give me that look and say 'Who?'.

I'm going to start a new series off where I share the style tips that I have learnt from some of my idols. For the first instalment I'm featuring Mary McDonnell, an Oscar and Emmy award nominee and one of my favourite actresses of all time.

Face of the Day // 2

Saturday, 27 September 2014

I received a compliment yesterday morning from a colleague at work about my make-up and I thought that I would share with you all what I used that morning. Plus, I applied this all at 5:20am with a normal house light as it is pitch black in the mornings now *sad face*. Let's get into it....
