TUTORIAL || Captain America [Avengers MCU] Inspired Makeup Look

Friday, 29 April 2016

IT'S CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR RELEASE DAAAAAAAY! AND I WENT TO THE MIDNIGHT SCREENING. Yes, I went to the midnight screening of Captain America: Civil War and it was beyond worth it. I loved this movie. It is probably my favourite one so far. LOVED IT. I may do a reaction/thoughts video on it. What do you think?

Anyway, since it was released today in the UK, I decided to do a tutorial inspired by Captain America. I know that I previously did one on this blog but I was not entirely happy with it. I'm not 100% with this one but it's better than the original one I did. By far.

I hope you like it and go and see the movie soon. YOU WON'T REGRET IT. And remember, STAY TO THE END OF ALL OF THE CREDITS. #TEAMCAP Check out my Captain America shield earrings! Aren't they epic?

TUTORIAL || Vision [MCU Avengers] Inspired Makeup Look

Friday, 22 April 2016

At the last minute I remembered that I wanted to do this look for today's tutorial. Captain America: Civil War is being released next Thursday night/Friday morning here in Northern Ireland (hands up those going to a midnight showing! MEEEEEE) and I wanted to mark the occasion with a tutorial inspired by one of my favourite characters, Vision. I used the colours of the Marvel Cinematic Universe version as my colour palette instead of the comic book one.

I love how this look turned out. I even wore it up to Belfast straight after I finished filming. I loved every second of it. I would say that I would've used a more pigmented gold shadow that Amber Lights but I still love how it looked as the Mind Stone. I hope you do too.

Have you chosen a side? Are you Team Cap or Team Iron Man?

TUTORIAL || Sleek 'Orbit' Smokey Eye

Friday, 15 April 2016

Today's makeup look is the one that I wore in my Star Trek Voyager 'Atonement' & 'A Pocket Full of Lies' book review/thoughts video on Tuesday - see here. I absolutely loved the makeup that I wore in that video and it was inspired by this look that I did last year for Star Trek Week, inspired by the Sciences Department uniform.

I didn't want to do another Star Trek video so soon after dedicating a week to it. The book review was a fluke because I just so happened to have completed the books that Saturday night and I wanted to sit down and talk about them. Not that I felt like I actually talked about them. Oops. But it's a wearable/updated one that made me feel like I was channeling Star Trek in some fashion. Fangirl priorities, yo.

It features one of my favourite eyeshadows. I wish I wore it more often too. It's from the i-Divines Ultra Matte (v2) eyeshadow palette from Sleek, and it's called 'Orbit'. It's a beautiful dark blue-green colour that was perfect for the blue-green of the Sciences department in Star Trek. Whenever I use it, I always think of that look.

Anyway, enough prattling on about Star Trek, I hope you enjoy the tutorial.

BOOK REVIEW || Star Trek: Voyager 'Atonement' & 'A Pocket Full of Lies'

Tuesday, 12 April 2016

I hadn't intended to do another Star Trek related video so soon after Star Trek Week. I couldn't help myself. I wanted to talk about these books. I read them last week and I was loathe to put them down, especially 'A Pocket Full of Lies'. I absolutely loved that one.

So I decided to sit down with my camera and have a little chat about them, share my thoughts and how much I love Kirsten Beyer's writing. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

STAR TREK WEEK || Jaylah [Star Trek: Beyond] Tutorial

Friday, 8 April 2016

The next tutorial and quite possibly the final tutorial for Star Trek Week #2 is inspired by the character of Jaylah from the new Star Trek: Beyond movie. When I saw the promotional photos for this character, I knew that I wanted to do a tutorial inspired by her at some point. What better time than Star Trek Week?

It is by no means perfect. I spent a good 30 minutes off-camera fixing everything because my camera battery just wouldn't have the life or patience to watch me fix it with my horrendous posture.

STAR TREK WEEK || Chakotay's Tattoo [Voyager]

Thursday, 7 April 2016

Star Trek Week continues here with a tutorial on how to do Chakotay's tribal tattoo from Star Trek: Voyager. It isn't solely a tattoo tutorial. I've also included a cheeky little makeup tutorial in how I think a gender-swapped Chakotay would do their makeup. I wanted to play around with makeup. What's new there?

It's by no means a perfect tutorial because my eyes just cannot see that far out of my head and my brain cannot compute reversing an image onto my face whilst looking in a mirror. My brain just hurts thinking back to it.

Come back tomorrow for the next tutorial in the series. It's something that is entirely new for me and something that really pushed me to the edge of frustration. I wanted to chuck everything out the window. So yeah, that was fun.

STAR TREK WEEK || Jadzia Dax Inspired Makeup Look

Monday, 4 April 2016

It's that time of year again, folks. STAR TREK WEEEEEEEK. Tomorrow is First Contact Day in the Star Trek cannon and like I did last year, I'm going to dedicate a week to things Star Trek. There won't be as many posts as last year but there will be three YouTube videos inspired by some of the characters from the fandom.

First up, is this look inspired by Jadzia Dax from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She's a Trill officer who's defining physical feature are the spots that decorate her face and go all the way down her body. I'm not dextric enough to go further than my neck. If you can, go for it! Oh and let's not forget the little parasite that she hosts inside her body. All in a day's work for Jadzia.

Come back on Wednesday for tutorial #2 of Star Trek Week.
