2 5    F A C T S    AB O U T    M E

I'm not sure what pre-empted this type of post. I just felt like I wanted to share a few things with you all about myself - the weirder things about me.
  1. I hate the smell of cinnamon. I don't. It reminds me of Sudocreme so if I smell it in food, I feel like I'm eating antiseptic cream.
  2. I wanted to be a butterfly when I grew up.
  3. I have two scars on my chin.
  4. I'm convinced that I was a dolphin in a past life as I like to swim to the bottom of pools and go along the floor. True fact. Or you know, I was the female version of Percy Jackson.
  5. I only became interested in make-up at the age of 25.
  6. I always have to check Google in multiples of 5. I cannot quit a search at any number that doesn't end in a 0 or 5. It has to be a multiple of 5 - 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 etc.
  7. Cobalt blue is my ultimate favourite colour.
  8. Caramel Macchiatto is my Starbucks drink of choice. I like it hot or iced.
  9. I'm a Virgo.
  10. I always eat the chocolate off of sweets and biscuits first.
  11. I don't like having food piled up on my plate. I like to see everything on my plate. It can touch but I like to see it all.
  12. I like mashed potato in small amounts. I hate it when dishes come with everything served on a bed of mash. It's such a waste.
  13. I take ketchup with my Christmas Dinner.
  14. I don't really like Oreos. I can eat them but I don't go looking for them or snapping them up if I see them when grocery shopping.
  15. My favourite biscuit brand is Foxes.
  16. I give my pieces of technology, names. Even my car has a name. .
  17. I love to read but I don't feel that I'm a fast reader and so I get put off reading.
  18. I listen to classical music whilst reading. It was a habit I got into in High School.
  19. At work, I hate it when people put things on my workspace as everything has to be set down and placed in a particular manner with straight edges. It's real-life Tetris.
  20. My bedroom is organised choas.
  21. I have insane road-rage.
  22. I have very little patience to train anybody to do anything. Don't ask me to explain anything. But I get annoyed when they don't know how to do anything or don't do it my way. Paradox.
  23. Most people ask if I'm American or Canadia or if I've ever lived in North America. Nope.
  24. Chocolate is my biggest weakness.
  25. Water is my favourite drink.

TUTORIAL || Hawkeye [Avengers] Inspired Makeup Look

Friday, 25 September 2015

I've diverted from DC Comics characters for a moment and defected to Marvel for this tutorial inspired by Hawkeye. I came up with the idea for this tutorial when in Belfast with my bestie having a few pints (it was my birthday celebrations). However, what came to me as I was filming the tutorial was a little different from my face chart. Nevertheless, I do like this look.

GET THE LOOK || Agent Carter || Besame vs NYX

Wednesday, 23 September 2015

As soon as I watched Agent Carter, I knew that I had to know the name of the iconic lipstick on Agent Carter. The beautiful Hayley Atwell furnished us fangirls with the much coveted information. Carter's lippy of choice is Bésame's lipstick in the shade, Red Velvet 1946

Readily available at Sephora.com, it wasn't much of an option for me for quite some time. It was either use Sephora's website and have it shipped to the UK or spend €30 and use Bésame's European website. Not great options.

That's where the beautiful world wide web came in handy because a lot of the research into a possible dupe had been done for me.

TUTORIAL || Poison Ivy [DC Comics] Inspired Make-up Look

Friday, 18 September 2015

Poison Ivy was one of those tutorials that I had written down on my 'To-Do' list for ages but hadn't found the right time to do. It wasn't until Tuesday night when I was trying to sleep that inspiration hit. Typically, once I've finished sorting out a Friday tutorial, I'm champing at the bit to get the next one planned out. I'm usually three weeks ahead of myself in terms of knowing what character or look I want to do next. This week, I had no such plan. I had no clue what I wanted to do or what look I wanted to do. I had zip. Zilch. Nada. Nout. Nuthin'!

BOOK || Outsider by Klaire de Lys

Wednesday, 16 September 2015

If you've been following my Favourites posts for the past couple of months, you will have seen the name Klaire de Lys a couple of times. I am absolutely in awe of this girl. Her makeup tutorials are incredible and her creativity knows no bounds whatsoever. I'm constantly being insipred by her tutorials to push myself and to not be so afraid of my creativity and thinking that it's wrong. When I found out that she had two books released, I was instantly intrigued. I watched her videos and read her blog posts about her Outsider book series. She would draw how several of the characters looked in her head and filmed how she created the cover artwork. She did that herself! There was no outside presence involved. I really respected that and was truly impressed as a self-taught graphics nut. Once I was paid in August, those books were mine.

CONCERT || Florence + the Machine [SSE Arena, Belfast]

Monday, 14 September 2015

Last month my best friend texted me asking what my rota was like around the 9th and 10th of September. My rotas are barely out for when the week changes over so to know what I would be working in about four weeks was next to impossible. It's basically the same with 6am starts. It's just what days I have off that are unknown. However, I knew exactly why she was asking. She was getting tickets for Florence + the Machine. I knew that this concert was happening on those dates as I had tweeted my brother with a hint for my birthday and so I replied back to her with, "If it's about Florence. My rota shouldn't matter". I know my dates, people.

TUTORIAL || Black Canary [Arrow] Inspired Makeup Look

Friday, 11 September 2015

To close my four-part Arrow Makeup Series is a tutorial inspired by the Black Canary, Laurel Lance played by Katie Cassidy. I hadn't originally planned to include a tutorial for the Black Canary when I came up with the idea for this series but when I saw THIS promotional image, I knew that I wanted to do something for it. I loved the smokey look of it, the big wing and the deep sultry lip. I wanted to do something that might emulate that. So, I decided that my three-part series would be a four-part series.

TUTORIAL || Deathstroke [Arrow] Inspired Makeup Look

Friday, 4 September 2015

Welcome to tutorial #3 out of 4 in my Arrow Makeup Series. This tutorial focuses on the character, Deathstroke, the villain of season 2. I wanted to use the colours of his mask, namely orange and black in this tutorial. One half of the mask is black and one half is orange. In my head, I wanted to add the black mouth slits in some shape or form to the eyelid that had the orange eyeshadow. I attempted it in the tutorial but it didn't quiiiiiite work out how I wanted it to and removed the lines that I drew altogether off-camera in the tutorial.
