TUTORIAL || Poison Ivy [DC Comics] Inspired Make-up Look

Poison Ivy was one of those tutorials that I had written down on my 'To-Do' list for ages but hadn't found the right time to do. It wasn't until Tuesday night when I was trying to sleep that inspiration hit. Typically, once I've finished sorting out a Friday tutorial, I'm champing at the bit to get the next one planned out. I'm usually three weeks ahead of myself in terms of knowing what character or look I want to do next. This week, I had no such plan. I had no clue what I wanted to do or what look I wanted to do. I had zip. Zilch. Nada. Nout. Nuthin'!

Then I went to sleep on Tuesday night and my mind's eye put green eye shadow on my imaginary eyelid and then lined it with a darker green. Then it made more lines going off of that line like vines and then it hit me. POISON IVY INSPIRED LOOK! It also gave me an excuse to test out the green gel eyeliner from Rimmel that I had bought last month. More on that in an upcoming post.

I even drew a face chart for this look the morning after the inspiration hit once I got home from work. I was that determined to do this look.

This look, however, was not the walk in the park that I expected it to be. I thought that since I I had it all planned out it would be easier. Boy, was I wrong. It took three attempts to get this end look. I was so flustered and frustrated by the end that I forgot some elements that I wanted to include. D;OH!

I am pleased with how this look turned out. It's different from anything that I've ever done before. I think it would've been better had I waited for the brushes that I ordered to arrive but they're estimated at the start of October as they're coming from Malaysia. Mental Note: Look at where you're buying from, kids! DOUBLE D'OH! They may have made the more precise parts work better. Who knows? I'm happy nevertheless and I taught myself something new which is what this journey is all about.
