STYLE ICONS || Katie McGrath

The most obscure style icons series continues with Katie McGrath of Merlin, Dracula and Jurassic World fame. I came across Katie when she played Lady Morgana in BBC's Merlin. She played the character for five years before the series was ended. Then came Dracula and this year saw her big screen debut as Zara in Jurassic World. 

Katie's style is so different from any of my other style icons as she's the closest one to me in age (being 32 years old at publication) and personality. She's quirky yet intelligent (though I'm not as smart), artistic, a total dork, an avid reader (80% of the BTS photos from Merlin are of her with a book) and unapologetic for her mind. Whenever you see her on the red carpet, in photoshoots, at events that have a more casual dress code and at conventions, her style is not what you would expect. In this post, I'm going to share some of my favourite outfits that Katie has worn and why I love them. Be warned, this will be photo heavy because I have a great love for her style and I'm including 90% of all photographs available of Katie.

And there you have it, my favourite looks from Katie McGrath from the red-carpet, events, photoshoots and just being out and about. There were a looooot of images used and those only ranged really to about 2012. There have been a lot of years inbetween where I haven't kept great tabs on the movings of Katie. However, all of the sites that I checked, all listed below btw, only had these so I kind of kept decent tabs. 

I hope that you enjoyed taking a gander at this point and that you can see why Katie is one of my style icons. I have some items in my wardrobe that I call my 'Katie' things, i.e. my 'Katie shoes' or my 'Katie jacket'. I adore her and I can't wait to see more and more from her. I may even do a separate style post for Morgana and Katie's other projects in the future.
